The organizing committee reserves the right to revise the rules at their sole discretion.
Each participating team must submit a registration fee of $50.00 either before or on the day of the tournament, which is October 17th, 2026, at 10:00 am.
Payment can be made via Zelle to ECKC Treasurer Mr. Bixa Kurian Kanneth at +1 757-374 2746. Teams will not be permitted to participate until the registration fee has been paid
All team representatives are required to report before 10:00 am, as games start at 10:00 am. Any team whose members aren't ready at their scheduled time will be disqualified.
The team number assigned to each team will determine the order in which the games are played.
Registration deadline is October 16 th , 2026. A team can comprise of male and female players and a maximum roster of 12 players.
Trophies will be awarded to both the winners and the runners-up.
All players must be members of churches affiliated ECKC. Prior to the tournament, players should be verified by the Vicars of their respective churches via email or Whatsapp before the game day.
Teams are allowed to bring players from other ECKC church members, but the majority of the players must be from the church that registers for the tournament.
The maximum players allowed to play the game is 6 per side.
At all times, at least three players from the registering church must be on the court

It is also recommended that each team brings their own hydration beverage (gatorade, water etc.) and/or towels.
The age distribution for Open category 14 and above. Players should be 14 by December 31, 2026
The age distribution of the 35 plus category is 35 and above. Players should be 35 by December 31, 2026
Organizers reserve the right to merge categories if there are not at least 2 teams in a category.
Any body contact with the net by any player during the game will lead to a loss of point.
The team getting 25 points straight up wins the set. (Points are awarded irrespective of who served the ball)
All points scored are given a value of 1 point each.
The team will serve until they lose a point, at which time the opposing team will rotate one position clockwise, and the player who rotated from the 2 position into the 1 position (right back) will serve
There are three-time outs allowed for each team. Each time-out is 1 minute long.
Substitution is allowed before every serve and during time out.
The team Captains will use coin toss to determine the choice of serving first or choosing a side for the first set.
There will be a referee present for each game. Either a referee or a volunteer who is not associated with either church will keep track of score. The referee will be in charge of all decisions during the game. There will also be a line referee.
Pool Play - Each team will play 1 set. 25 points are needed to win a set. If two teams reach 24 or above, a 2 point difference is needed to win the set.
Set 1 and Set 2 will be played for 25 points. 3 rd set will be played for 15 points
25 points are needed to win a set 1 and 2 and if two teams reach 24 or above, a 2 point difference is needed to win the set.
.15 points are needed to win a set and if two teams reach 14 or above, a 2 point difference is needed to win the set.
Before playing the 3rd set, the team Captains will use coin toss to determine the choice of serving first or choosing a side for the set.
3 sets make a game . The team winning 2 sets wins the game. If a team wins 2 sets straight, the 3rd set will not be played and that team is announced as the winner.
